We believe that God has called parents to be the major contributors in their child’s spiritual growth, so it’s our desire to partner with parents in teaching kids the way of Jesus. Our desire is to create a place where people of all ages are invited to participate in the full life of our community and to grow as followers of Jesus. That certainly includes children. We seek out opportunities for children to be fully involved in our spiritual formation. We believe children can be full participants in life with God; therefore, we seek to create age appropriate opportunities for children’s involvement in the life of watershed.
Babies
During our Gatherings: Babies are welcome in our gatherings. While we do not have an official nursery, we do have lots of people who love babies and would be glad to help you out. We also have a place for changing and playing. And, please do not be bothered by babies making a little noise or crying a bit. They remind us of God’s constant gift of life.
Toddlers & Elementary Kids
We seek to create an atmosphere of spiritual formation for all people at watershed, including kids. We believe that parents have the primary responsibility for their children’s spiritual formation, and we desire for our church to support families in this effort.
During our Gatherings: We have a “kids host” who encourages them to join in the singing, prayer and communion. We also have a great team of people who help us find creative ways to include kids during our time together. During the teaching time children are invited into an age appropriate climate involving art, story, music and other active ways of discovery. Parents can expect their kids will be loved and cared for during this time. We will also provide a basic resource to parents to let them know what their children are learning and how they can continue the subject at home.
Middle/Junior/Senior High Students
We seek to create an atmosphere where middle, junior, and high school students can fully participate in the life of our community. We believe that students have a lot to contribute to who we are, and to receive great benefit from being actively involved with adults who love them and help them live a life with God.
