Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for you to gain the whole world, yet forfeit your soul? –Mark 8:34-36
This week’s podcast:
Jesus is not the breadgiver king. He is the bread. (We can’t use him to get what we want. He is who we need.)
This week’s podcast:
All around there are needs and brokenness. It can be overwhelming. Or it can move us to join in God’s restoring work…as if he’s making his appeal through us (2 Cor 5:20). God has sent us to a world that is crying out for help, for hope, for healing. We can bring the hope and light of Christ where before there was only darkness and decay. This is what it means to be the church. This is the we we want to be.
Note: We experienced some audio problems about a minute into the recording. The remainder of the recording is not in the best quality and there is some background noise. We apologize for the lower quality, but still wanted to make the teaching available for you.
